so I've been really busy and stuff

So it's been some time since I've had time to post. I'm getting brian cramps from trying to keep up with where I'm going what day since I'm working for about 4-6 different places, but I'm also having a great time getting to paint and build all kinds of stuff. When I'm not working for moolah, I'm working on paintings for upcoming art shows this summer. I've developed a thick patina of paint on my skin which I only make a half-assed attempt to wash off before heading to the next job. Sexy. As you might imagine, this routine leaves me no time to keep up with the dishes or laundry since I'm only home long enough to trash the place. Josh gets extra points for picking up the slack!
I've missed so many days I'm going to post the first half today and the next half, um, whenever I next end up with some free time.
March 29
This is Nala, Chris' Pug. She makes little snorty pig noises and likes to chase socked feet. I like her underbite.
March 30
Jeff finished his oil painting today. He's got some sweet talent, this is his first oil painting. He also has some sweet patience as I was his Jimminie Cricket, perched behind him offering my advice a bit more than it was requested.

April 1

Lara and I hung our art show at Barefoot today!
April 2

Cherry M&M's are the shit.

April 3

Behold: A flattened squirrel. Sort of looks like he's dancing, doesn't he?

April 4I am still fascinated with bugs. I saw this caterpillar while I was working the load in for a fundraiser for privileged children at a Catholic school in Atherton. I hear they raised a ridiculous amount of money which I expect will furnish the children with lobster lunches and diamond studded blackberries.

April 5 Our art show was today! We made three live paintings, this one is of Pam. She's one of the most cheerful and outgoing people I know. Go Pam!

April 6

I worked on some foam rocks for Tabbard Theatre Co. Today. Rocks are the easiest thing to make with styrofoam other than rectangles.

April 7

Shayna gave me piggie peeps for Easter. I've been snacking on them a lot. Sorry piggies!

April 8 I actually failed to take a photo today (for shame!), but this one was taken of me a few days later. I painted for Tabbard again today.

April 9

I have officially sorted through enough washers to last me a lifetime. But don't they look so pretty all labeled and lined up?

April 10Lemur alone! Har har. King Julien is going to a party for the release of Madagascar 2. I like to move it! Move it!

April 11

Lara and I began our first really big painting today! It's a "full" size bedsheet. We're working on these every Friday until we have our show at South First Billiards. I liked the ripply texture of the watered down paint being mixed to size the sheet with.

April 12

Before belly dancing today Bridget and I had an impromptu photo shoot with our reflections in a pipe.

April 13 Bite sized foam sculpture of a castle for Tabbard. All it needs is a moat and an attacking dragon.

April 14

I made Baklava for the first time today! This is just after it went in the oven. It turned out super tasty although afterwords it occurred to me that I now have 33 pieces of Baklava which I probably should not eat all by myself...

Many more painted things

March 20
Today was the PAC 5 year anniversary party! I joined in on the live, collaborative, improvisational art. This is part that I worked on. The girl is Shirine!
March 21
Josh hid eggs for me. Some of them had play-doh inside, so I made a Purple people eater about to eat a chick in leiu of a purple person.

March 22
Josh and I wnt to visit Stoli today. There is a bird that likes to attack his reflection in Stoli's side view mirror. Every time we go up there, it's flying back and forth from the bushes to the mirror where it attempts to peck it's reflection to death.

March 23
Today Marjorie posed for me! I'm hoping to start a new series of paintings in about a month or so.

March 24
This was snapped while I was in my car on the way to work. The streetlights were still on a 1pm.

March 25
Ardvark reheating his pizza with a heat gun (also known as an impatience gun) while on the phone with Annette. Good times.

March 26
Painting a lot, here's a quick shot of my shoes.

March 27
Here's a progress shot of a couple of paintings I was working on today.

March 28
Closeup of a much-used M42 stencil.

So I've been busy...

February 25

Here's my zombie lip. Ewwww.....

February 26 I saw this lady thru my window. Her flowers match her shirt. I've been pretty depressed about the infected lip thing, so I have been trying to focus on nice things like flowers and that kind of shit.

February 27

I painted the lip. I don't know what got into me.

February 28

I've been going to the Cinequest Film Festival with Josh after work. Here's a postcard for one of the shorts. I didn't see the movie, I just liked the card.

February 29Leap day! I visited Crystal who was in town from Hawaii. We are reflected in someone's car.

March 1

Dinner at a Morracan place for David's birthday. Nothing like eating with your hands and watching belly dance!

March 2

Today was the Hafla I was meant to dance at. I just watched, as my lip was still fucked up. Here's Nour El Ain looking sexy.

March 3Painting at Great America today I saw a fairly creepy spider.

March 4
A dandelion, for Jeff.

March 5Or sore feet day, to some. My number, spray painted on the pavement near my car on my street. It follows me, I'm telling you.

March 6

A tiny dead bug. The wildlife at Great America once again.

March 7

Today was Migel's art opening. We all got to draw on the wall!

March 8 A Bush I painted at GA. Yes, I know it's blue. Apparently, that's a Dora thing.

March 9

Cookies. Glorious cookies!

March 10 This is reptar. The blue streak has been repainted and this godzilla-like cartoon is it's new mascot. The smurfs get no love.

March 11

Another day at the office.

March 12

The ducks have appeared at my apartment building again. They like to cruze around in the pool. If they look indignant, it's because the pool has been drained. Drat!

March 13Worked at Method 42 today. Mark is making the pretty fireworks.

March 14

This kid may like coloring almost as much as me. And cake.

March 15Josh came home from Reno today. And he brought me a shirt. What a guy!

March 16

Up early to work the out for Method 42. Here's the resident pidgen population of M 42.

March 17

St. Patty's day! This kid was dancing (read: running in circles) with her panda. It of course made me think of my dear panda who is awesome.

March 18 Preping for the show with PAC on Thursday, I've started some small canvases. I also spent the day in my pjs. Awesome.

March 19
They look like a patchwork quilt of paintings! Rightous! I'd like to do a whole wall like this. OooOOOOOOoooo! Or a whole room!

zombie lips

February 19
I got a new flower for my window today. It's a ranunculus. Yay!
February 20
Here's chip, who is chewing on my old quilt. He has gotten green paint on his head because he is an idiot and keeps getting into things he shouldn't.

February 21

I wrote a letter to my friend Shirine in Humboldt today (thanks Lara, for the stationary & stamp)!
February 22 Today I taught my mom to knit. Lara came, too! This is in my mom's living room. We are all knitting scarves since that's the easiest thing you can make. I'm going to make a sweater as soon as I can decode the directions and figure out how to make the pattern Lacey-sized.

February 23 My friend Stephanie had a sushi party, which was awesome because she's a really good cook (a pastry chef, in fact which is even cooler if you're me and have an unquenchable sweet tooth)! There was soup and dessert and we got to roll our own *hee*. Steve is cutting his first roll here. And also being super cheesey.

February 24
Unlike any normal person, when I get cold sores I don't get one, I get about 50 all on my upper lip. So I look like a mutant, but besides that, it burns and I can hardly get my mouth open. So I'm in my own personal hell and petroleum jelly is becoming something I'm rather fond of.

One legged birds

February 11
I began kitting my first beanie today! It went waaaaaaaaay faster than the scarf, partially due to the thicker yarn and smaller pattern and partially because I actually kind of know what I'm doing now. Of course, I can't make heads or tails of the sweater pattern I printed out, so I'm going to stick with beanies and scarves for a bit.
February 12 I did some painting today. I'm working on using thicker paint and a palette knife. I love the way thick paint looks, but my brain screams in agony at how expensive that gets.

February 13 I took all of my old oil paintings to a coffeeshop in Pacific Grove today. On the way back I stopped at Marina State Beach and walked around barefooted in the sand. I also absconded with an ice plant to grow on my porch.

Dancing, painting, music - life as usual

February 4
This is the candle in the bathroom at work. I liked the colors together.
February 5

I went to see Matt Costa in SF with Josh, Tara and Liz. This is the ad on the wall next to our parking spot.

February 6

I actually forgot to take a picture today, but here's one of me in belly dance costume since there was a rehersal tonight.
February 7

I spent most of the day painting for WVLO today. I thought my hand looked rather zombie-like all covered in off white paint.

February 8 Another day of painting at the WVLO space. The doors of the warehouses were all rusty and cool looking.

February 9

I painted a bit today. I'm working on my brushwork. This is the drawing I started with on my second piece. The first one ended in a lot of smearing and throwing of paints. I made a second (and more sucessful) attempt at that one later the next day.

February 10

The belly dance performance was today. I tried to get a shot of the infinate mirrors but only really got myself in the shot. Bleh.

42 appears again

January 30
I actually missed taking a photo this day, as I left my memory card in the computer at work. But here's a picture of the number of mesages on my answering machine that day.
January 31

Still no memory card. Here's a picture of one of my paintings, since this was the day I hung my work. It would have been a pretty fun day except for the part where the stuck up artist from last month's show had a kaniption fit because I took some of her work down for her since she didn't show up to do it on time. And also the news that my uncle shot himself.

February 1

I got my memory card back! Here's my name in lights (I couldn't resist). The art show opened today and it was super fantastic! So many of my friends came out and lots of new people, too.

February 2

Here's a close up of the painting Lara and I did yesterday at the art show. Today was nice and chill.

February 3

I went out to Good Karma Cafe downtown with Josh, Tara and John and saw this little paste up on a lamp post. Nice!
