zombie lips

February 19
I got a new flower for my window today. It's a ranunculus. Yay!
February 20
Here's chip, who is chewing on my old quilt. He has gotten green paint on his head because he is an idiot and keeps getting into things he shouldn't.

February 21

I wrote a letter to my friend Shirine in Humboldt today (thanks Lara, for the stationary & stamp)!
February 22 Today I taught my mom to knit. Lara came, too! This is in my mom's living room. We are all knitting scarves since that's the easiest thing you can make. I'm going to make a sweater as soon as I can decode the directions and figure out how to make the pattern Lacey-sized.

February 23 My friend Stephanie had a sushi party, which was awesome because she's a really good cook (a pastry chef, in fact which is even cooler if you're me and have an unquenchable sweet tooth)! There was soup and dessert and we got to roll our own *hee*. Steve is cutting his first roll here. And also being super cheesey.

February 24
Unlike any normal person, when I get cold sores I don't get one, I get about 50 all on my upper lip. So I look like a mutant, but besides that, it burns and I can hardly get my mouth open. So I'm in my own personal hell and petroleum jelly is becoming something I'm rather fond of.

One legged birds

February 11
I began kitting my first beanie today! It went waaaaaaaaay faster than the scarf, partially due to the thicker yarn and smaller pattern and partially because I actually kind of know what I'm doing now. Of course, I can't make heads or tails of the sweater pattern I printed out, so I'm going to stick with beanies and scarves for a bit.
February 12 I did some painting today. I'm working on using thicker paint and a palette knife. I love the way thick paint looks, but my brain screams in agony at how expensive that gets.

February 13 I took all of my old oil paintings to a coffeeshop in Pacific Grove today. On the way back I stopped at Marina State Beach and walked around barefooted in the sand. I also absconded with an ice plant to grow on my porch.

Dancing, painting, music - life as usual

February 4
This is the candle in the bathroom at work. I liked the colors together.
February 5

I went to see Matt Costa in SF with Josh, Tara and Liz. This is the ad on the wall next to our parking spot.

February 6

I actually forgot to take a picture today, but here's one of me in belly dance costume since there was a rehersal tonight.
February 7

I spent most of the day painting for WVLO today. I thought my hand looked rather zombie-like all covered in off white paint.

February 8 Another day of painting at the WVLO space. The doors of the warehouses were all rusty and cool looking.

February 9

I painted a bit today. I'm working on my brushwork. This is the drawing I started with on my second piece. The first one ended in a lot of smearing and throwing of paints. I made a second (and more sucessful) attempt at that one later the next day.

February 10

The belly dance performance was today. I tried to get a shot of the infinate mirrors but only really got myself in the shot. Bleh.

42 appears again

January 30
I actually missed taking a photo this day, as I left my memory card in the computer at work. But here's a picture of the number of mesages on my answering machine that day.
January 31

Still no memory card. Here's a picture of one of my paintings, since this was the day I hung my work. It would have been a pretty fun day except for the part where the stuck up artist from last month's show had a kaniption fit because I took some of her work down for her since she didn't show up to do it on time. And also the news that my uncle shot himself.

February 1

I got my memory card back! Here's my name in lights (I couldn't resist). The art show opened today and it was super fantastic! So many of my friends came out and lots of new people, too.

February 2

Here's a close up of the painting Lara and I did yesterday at the art show. Today was nice and chill.

February 3

I went out to Good Karma Cafe downtown with Josh, Tara and John and saw this little paste up on a lamp post. Nice!
